Mongrel Fur is a valuable crafting resource used for upgrading your gear at the Enchanted Loom. Mongrel Fur can either be bought from different vendors (either from the Brood & Peck Shop in Hogsmeade or from Hamlet Shop vendors that specialize in selling beast materials), or it can be gathered from killing Dark Mongrels and Mongrels in the wilderness.

Mongrels can be generally found in the vicinity of Hogwarts Castle, either in the forests that surround Hamlets or in the Forbidden Forest itself.
