Lord of All Flame (Faith/Strength)

Elden Ring supplies the players with a wide variety of elements to incorporate into their builds. Instead of just having “fire”, players can choose from 4 distinct flame types. These are the Black Flame, regular fire in the form of the Fire Monk incantations, the Frenzied Flame, and the Dragon Communion incantations via Agheel’s Flame. While these aren’t the ONLY flame types in the game, they are the most prevalent and the most vital. In this build, we’ll be focusing on implementing all of these flame types into a coherent and ferocious build.

What This Build is For

While it’s obviously ideal to focus on a specific damage type or two, this build isn’t about min-maxing your damage to the last decimal place — it’s about being the Lord of All Flames.

Besides the Blood Flame and the Dragon communion incantations, this will naturally be a Faith heavy and flame-focused build. Thus, Faith/Strength will be prioritized, and our weapons will be faith scaling and have flame weapon arts. For our weapons, we’ll be using the Blasphemous Blade, Godslayer’s Greatsword, and Vyke’s War Spear. Each flame type has an individual seal to boost its abilities. Thus, we’ll be equipping the Godslayer’s Seal , Frenzied Flame Seal, and the Erdtree Seal. This build can function in both PvP and PvE, and is meant for level 150.

How To Use this Build

We’ll be equipping the Blasphemous Blade, Godslayer’s Greatsword, and Vyke’s War Spear in the right-handed slot. For our left-handed slot, be sure to equip the Godslayer’s Seal, Frenzied Flame Seal, and Erdtree Seal. When in combat, prioritize your seal based on what incantations you’re currently using. For PvE, it’s better to use the Godslayer’s Seal to maximize the black flame damage. For PvP, make sure you use the Frenzied Flame Seal when casting the frenzied flame incantations or using Vyke’s War Spear.

While the weapons skills in this build are very damaging, don’t forget that players can dodge them, and use them sparingly. It’s best to utilize them as mix-ups, preventing your attack pattern from becoming predictable and forcing the enemy to dodge with different timings.

Rotations & Strategies for Groups of Enemies

  1. When the enemies start charging towards you, cast Flame, Grant Me Strength to increase our fire damage.
  2. Hold and cast the Blasphemous Blade‘s weapon art (to maximize its damage). The pillars go through multiple enemies, so this should take care of most enemies approaching you.
  3. For remaining enemies, cast Unendurable Frenzy to clear them out.
  4. If there are too many enemies swarming you at once, cast Noble Presence to deal some black flame damage in the area.

Rotations & Strategies for Bosses

  1. When starting the encounter, cast Flame, Grant Me Strength to increase our fire damage, cast again after the boss reaches half health.
  2. The Blasphemous Blade deals damage from mid-range with its weapon art, so you won’t need to get too close to deal massive amounts of damage.
  3. If/when the boss gets too close for comfort, cast Noble Presence and follow up by using the Godslayer’s Greatsword to stack more black flame damage.

Cool concept! Fire damage is really fun. And in PVP, if a player is killed by fire damage, they have a unique, horrific death scream. But I feel like this build could be optimized a little bit more. If this is meant for level 150, why did you stop at 139? Some more points into mind and endurance would probably be nice. And does this build rely on Godrick’s great rune? Without it, you won’t have the 15 arcane to use Agheel’s Flame spell. But with it, you’re at 65 vigor, which is wasting a few points. It’d be more efficient to go for 55 points in vigor to reach the soft cap of 60 with Godrick’s rune if you’re using it. 60 Faith seems good. 80 Faith would give you more damage, but 60 allows you to use Messmer’s Orb spell from the DLC.

I guess you left the physick, armor and 4th talisman slot empty for the player to choose on their own. For the physick, I’d use Opaline Hardtear for a defense boost, especially with Fire Scorpion Charm, and the Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear for a boost in fire damage. I usually just pick armor for fashion, as long as I have medium load. For the 4th talisman, I’d probably use Flock’s Canvas talisman to boost incantation damage by 8%. Or maybe Radagon Icon to boost cast speed. In PVP, Fire Scorpion Charm is worse. It only gives you an 8% boost in fire damage and makes you take 15% more damage.

For the seals, Erdtree Seal has no passive boost and it has less incant scaling, so less damage, than Godslayer’s Seal on this build. So I would just use the Godslayer’s Seal to cast the spells. And you can hold another seal in your offhand to boost the damage of certain spells. Frenzied Flame Seal, like you mentioned, for Unendurable Frenzy, Giant’s Seal for Flame of the Fell God, and Dragon Communion Seal for Agheel’s Flame. I don’t believe that the Frenzy seal boosts Vyke’s War Spear damage though. Speaking of spells, I would probably also just use the Golden Vow spell too. It will stack with Flame Grant Me Strength to boost your damage even more, and it will boost your defense which will help offset the damage penalty from the Fire Scorpion charm.
