This Magma Wyrm is found in Mt. Gelmir and is identical to the Magma Wyrm Makar boss in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice dungeon, but the surrounding terrain makes it possible to cheese this boss.

Since this boss’s moveset is identical to Magma Wyrm Makar‘s, you can check out its guide instead if you wish to defeat it without any shenanigans. As for the rest of this guide, we’ll be detailing the easy way of dealing with this boss, which may or may not involve rocks, standing on top of them, and walking back and forth.

This strategy revolves around the use of ranged attacks, so make sure to stock up on projectiles, ammunition or Flasks of Cerulean Tears, as this boss has a fair amount of HP. Now all you need to do is get closer to the lava lake to get the boss to show up, and climb on top of the tallest rock next to the summoning pool.

From there, while you won’t be completely safe, you will be able to dodge the boss’s attacks with ease, safely heal up, and not worry about being pushed into the lava. Once the Magma Wyrm is below you, all you need to do is wait slightly away from the edge until the Magma Wyrm uses an attack, move in to use your ranged attack, and move back out. Repeat this until the boss is dead.

If you don’t have enough FP to finish the fight from that spot and you don’t have access to any other ranged attacks, you can always go down and follow Magma Wyrm Makar‘s guide if you need help. And if there is a particular phase of the fight that you find the most difficult, you can keep your FP to get through it, and use your melee weapon on the easier part of the fight.
