Diablo Animated Series Announced

This year marked three decades since the release of Diablo, a game that defined a specific and widely beloved style of action-RPG. And now, with the series on its fourth entry, and numerous games inspired by it doing great, Blizzard is ready to take it to the next level.

During this year’s BlizzCon Opening Ceremony, Blizzard’s President Johanna Faries revealed that they’ve partnered with “creative powerhouses” to bring an official animated Diablo series to Netflix. What’s more, while we didn’t get any specifics, Ms. Faries also revealed that other visual media projects, related to the WarCraft and Overwatch franchises, are currently in the works.

As of right now we don’t know what form this new series will take or which era of the world of Sanctuary it will cover. However we can feel safe to expect some gritty action, a Gothic atmosphere, and a memorable soundtrack as the Great Evils of the Burning Hells duke it out with the High Heavens, with Sanctuary’s heroes stuck in the middle.
