In this optional Hogwarts Legacy side quest, a mysterious treasure map finds its way into your hands. It has floating candles on it and seems to be by a bridge. Let’s find the treasure!

The map gives the player clues to the treasure’s location. If you paid attention on your way to Hogsmeade at the start of the game, you may find some of the map’s images familiar: There’s only one big bridge between Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade; even more telling, the small arch with signs in front of the forest is the entrance to the Forbidden Forest!

Use the Map with Floating Candles to Find the Treasure

After you have the map, the only difficult part is finding where to start the quest. Lucky for you, we know where that is. The quickest way there is by going to the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame location. Once you’re there, simply cast Lumos and walk across the stone bridge. You will see floating candles appear; follow them into the forest.

The candles will veer right mostly and follow the main trail. There are enemies, but you can run past them without issue. Eventually the candles will lead you to a large tree, and under it will be a romantic setting with a chest of treasure.
