This guide will walk you through solving the Grand Staircase’s Puzzle Door. This door is located close to the Grand Staircase Floo Flame. In order to open it, players will need to put the correct symbols on each of the two question mark panels in the area. The player can cast Revelio to make the panels glow blue.

First go left from the door and down the stairs, immediately turn left and go down more stairs. Then take a left, and directly underneath the puzzle door is the double question mark panel. Select the panel until the correct symbol, which is the crab symbol (5), appears. Then head back up the stairs to the door. Thankfully, the other panel is just to the left of the puzzle door. The correct symbol for this panel is the Demiguise.

Explanation

For the Grand Staircase’s puzzle door, shown below, we can see that the top triangle for the single question mark panel was 4 + 2 (Graphorn head) + ? 0 (Demiguise) = 6. And the bottom triangle was 5 + 1 + ?? Crab (5) = 11.
