In the Shadow of Distance is a brief quest, which sees you simply enter the Undercroft from the secret door in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Tower, and then speaking to Sebastian Sallow with /.

After a brief conversation, you will complete In the Shadow of Distance. You might not get a “Quest Complete” splash screen, but you can verify that you have completed the quest by checking the appropriate tab in the Quests menu.
