In what we’ll have to assume isn’t some kind of cruel April Fool’s joke, WB Games Avalanche Twitter account posted an image of Zonko’s Joke Shop along with a #Hogwarts Legacy hashtag.

What is less clear is whether or not players will actually be able to enter the shop — it has yet to be confirmed if a significant portion of the iconic village will have buildings you can actually enter. We also don’t know whether or not you’ll be able to buy joke items, although it isn’t hard to think of ways to create gameplay around them. Prank items could be used as distractions to lure enemies off of their patrol paths, or they could be used as solutions in quests or puzzles.
Regardless of the in-game functionality of the shop, it seems unlikely that they’d go through all the trouble of creating a detailed 3D model for an April Fool’s prank, so it seems safe to assume that Zonko’s will indeed be present in the Hogwarts Legacy version of Hogsmeade. Speaking of Hogsmeade, we also got a (very) brief look at the village on April 1st, courtesy of the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter.

An arrival to the village via train may be in the player characters’ future, or perhaps this is simply Avalanche showing off another part of their lovingly-modeled Hogsmeade. At least we now know how long it’ll be before we find out — we learned in last month’s State of Play that Hogwarts Legacy will be released during the 2022 Holiday season.
