Rescuing Rococo is an optional quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Agnes Coffey’s pet Niffler, Rococo, has gone missing, and she’s worried sick. While on their morning constitutional, they stumbled upon a place called Henrietta’s Hideaway, which is known for being littered with traps. Rococo saw something in one of the windows and he ran straight into it. Agnes wants to save him, but is scared of running into these traps, or the Ashwinders in the area. That’s where you come in.
If you want to save some time, you can do this quest, The Hippogriff Marks the Spot and Solved By the Bell at the same time. They both mainly take place in the same area, and even share some steps to progress.
Speak to Agnes Coffey
To begin Rescuing Rococo, you will need to speak to Agnes Coffey, who is in Poidsear Coast. If you have never been to Poidsear Coast before (the southeast corner of the World Map), it can be tricky even reaching the area. Luckily, we have a How to Get to Poidsear Coast guide to help you get there! From the North Poidsear Coast Floo Flame (where you will be after reaching Poidsear Coast for the first time), get on your broom and fly southeast until you reach Bainburgh.
From the Bainburgh Floo Flame, she will be just east running her shop. Talking with her (with /) will begin Rescuing Rococo, where she will ask for your help — her Niffler Rococo ran off into an area known as Henrietta’s Hideaway, and she would like your help rescuing him.
Finding Henrietta’s Hideaway
To find Henrietta’s Hideaway, get on your broom and fly south for a good while. Eventually, you will reach a small beach area with a ruined building atop a hill. The entrance to the hideaway will be on the southeastern side of the hill. Land in front of the entrance to avoid any enemies, then enter Henrietta’s Hideaway.
When you enter the hideaway, you will see two platforms in front of you, with the one on the right having a block on top.
Turn left to see a statue with a torch, and cast Incendio to light it (image 1) — this will reveal a block.
Grab the block with Wingardium Leviosa and take it over to the platform that didn’t have a block (image 2).
One block/platform will have a fire symbol on it, while the other pair will have an ice symbol. Cast Incendio on the pair with the fire symbol, and Glacius on the other (image 3), and a doorway will open to the next area.

Clearing the Second Room
While you won’t have to solve a puzzle in this room, the room will be filled with Ashwinders that you will have to deal with (unless you had completed The Hippogriff Marks the Spot and/or Solved By the Bell beforehand, then they will not respawn and the room will be empty). They are mostly level 19, with some level 25’s as well, and can be deadly due to their large numbers.
Keep in mind that the Executioners are immune to spells that move them around, like Accio, and try to take out the Ranger in the back of the room quickly. Take advantage of your Ancient Magic when you can, and use your most powerful spells to bring down their numbers quickly.
Once they are taken care of, cast Revelio, and you will notice small piles of galleons on the floor. Follow the trail to the northeast corner of the room and up a flight of stairs (if you lose the trail, cast Revelio again to highlight the galleons).
Eventually down the path there will be a trap floor that will throw you back if you try to cross it — Revelio will highlight the trap. In order to cross it, cast Arresto Momentum on the trapped floor (you will need to aim at it with /), and then you can safely cross over to the next room.
Solve the Second Puzzle
Before you can even solve the next puzzle, you will need to clear the room of Ashwinders (unless you completed Solved By the Bell beforehand, then the room will be clear). This will essentially be the same fight as the previous room, so use the same strategy here to clear out the enemies.
Once the battle is over, look at the north side of the room and you will see two platforms, much like the ones in the first puzzle. You will need to find two blocks to place on these platforms.
Finding the First Block
The first block is in this room. Go up the stairs on the south side, then look north — you will see a block on the other side of the room, on top of a platform.
Cast Accio on the block to bring it down on the floor, then cast Wingardium Leviosa to bring it over to the left platform (both the block and platform have a leaf icon on them).
Finding the Second Block
Look on the south wall behind the stairs, and you will see a section of the wall that looks unstable. Simply walk up to it, and it will open up to reveal a new room. Inside this room, you can find the Musical Map on a table immediately to your left, and the block will be here as well. Grab the block with Wingardium Leviosa, and walk up the stairs to the south to lead you back to the puzzle room (you cannot leave this room the same way you came in).
Once you’re back in, take the block to the right platform (both the block and platform will have a fire symbol).
Now that both blocks are on their platforms, cast Levioso on the one with the leaf symbol, and Incendio on the one with the fire symbol. This will make the wall in between them open up to reveal a passageway.
Rescuing Rococo
Go through the newly opened passage, and in the next room you will find Rococo. Cast Levioso on him, then capture him with your Nab-Sack. You will have to attempt to capture him three times before it’s successful (you will see the dots under him track your attempts).
Once you got him, you are free to leave the hideaway — you will have to walk to make your way back, however.
Talk to Agnes
Return to Agnes, who will be in the same spot as when you started this quest. Talk to her to return Rococo to her. You will have the option to ask for more money, or to even keep him for yourself altogether. (There are no consequences for asking for more money in these types of quests, and a lot of galleons you could gain, as we discuss in our How to Make Gold guide).
After speaking with her, you will have completed Rescuing Rococo, and have a new hat to try on!
