Phoenix Rising – Hogwarts Legacy Quest

Phoenix Rising is an optional quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Deek has learned of a Phoenix that might get chased down by poachers, and worries for its safety. It’s up to you to get to the phoenix before they do.

To begin Phoenix Rising, you will need to speak to Deek. Use the Room of Requirement Floo Flame, and he will be to your right. Talking with him (with playstation square button/button xbox x v2) will begin Phoenix Rising, where he will ask for your help — Deek has learned of a phoenix nest, and he would like you to rescue the Phoenix roosted there before the poachers can reach him.

The cave with the phoenix nest isn’t quite as close as Deek suggests. If you haven’t unlocked the Phoenix Mountain Cave Floo Flame, use the North Poidsear Coast one instead (where you will be after reaching Poidsear Coast for the first time), get on your broom and fly east along the mountain. Turn north as soon as you can, and you will find the cave just ahead. Head inside the Phoenix Mountain Cave when you’re ready.

Once inside, use a Basic Cast on the wall in front of you, and start going down the path. After climbing two small ledges, you’ll come across a room with a few poachers. They’re all around level 25, and shouldn’t give you much of an issue. Once they’re cleared out, go through either opening heading east, and continue through the cave.

Once you crouch through a hole and enter a larger room, you will have to deal with some more poachers. This will be basically the same as the previous fight, but there will be enemies with yellow and purple shields, so just have the appropriate colored spells ready, like Accio and Glacius. When you defeat the last enemy, you will receive a Gate Key. Use this key to open up a door on the south side of the room, and then you can continue forward.

Once you enter, you will see a short cutscene. Then, climb up the ladder west to continue — there will be a straggler poacher to take care of when you reach the top. After you climb the second ladder, turn right when you see a locked door. After you jump over a gap on a wooden bridge, take the path east up a slope.

When you climb up a small ledge, climb up the ladder on the south side of the area and continue on. After hopping over a gap, you will see a few spiders to take care of — they shouldn’t give you any trouble. Once they’re dealt with, continue forward until you reach a large room.

You will be ambushed by a group of poachers. This will be similar to the previous fights, only this will be a larger group and there will be a level 27 Duelist among them. Take out some enemies quickly with Ancient Magic and your most powerful spells so that they don’t overwhelm you, and the battle should go smoothly. Once the battle is over, look towards the east side of the room to see an unstable-looking wall. Cast Bombarda on it, and continue forward.

Once you reach another open area, you will finally meet up with the Phoenix, and your Beast Inventory will gain more slots. You can now use your Nab-Sack to rescue him — he already trusts you, so you don’t have to worry about him struggling or escaping. Once you have him, go north, and there will be a short path leading you out of the cave.

Once you go back to the Room of Requirement, a cutscene will automatically start. During the scene, the Room will unlock the fourth Vivarium, and the Phoenix will welcome itself into the new area.

After the cutscene you will have finished Phoenix Rising, and have your very own Phoenix!

I'm a huge gamer who especially loves the Final Fantasy series. I will play just about any game, especially if it has anything resembling a Dragoon.
