Thanks for making this!!!
I was just playing around with the system. I didn’t even realize that it was publicly available. I wouldn’t do this unless you was playing on Story difficulty and I wouldn’t follow the talent order at all.
I am an idiot I thought this comment was only on a build I made. haha
https://eip.gg/hogwarts-legacy/talent-planner/?build=yBCsroLUVReGPifpcTgmaxlhAtMFqEDuSjkb Any opinions on this build? At the end of the day i’d say this is a more “all around” focused build because i like doing everything on one main character. The only thing you might not be able to do as well w/ this is “complete” stealth w/ disillusionment since i built stealth around the invisibility potion so i can use it in combat (for multiple purposes not just stealthing enemy camps). I only went w/ 3 spell rows because i dont see myself using the 4th one for anything except convenience (beast care, room of requirement, and utility spells) but if im doing that stuff i can just swap out some skills since i wont be fighting at those times anyway and even if i am i have 2 more spell rows to fight with but if more spells are ever added then i’d def get the last upgrade for it assuming they’d also increase/give more talents/talent points. If u were to ask though there is 3 skill points that id be willing to swap so that you could do the stealth stuff every now and then w/ disillusionment those 3 would be Depulso mastery in spells – Curse sapper in dark arts – Ancient magic throw expertise in core honestly these are the three i keep unchecking and seeing if i want to put the points elsewhere i cant decide so i just haven’t used those three points in game yet. Would love advice on this as well since i truly cant decide i just dont know how useful they really are so if anyone has input on this please tell. Just so anyone seeing this knows the build im cureently doing w/ this is one where i spread the curse for bonus dmg pop a potion or two and then just use spells like normal simple as that but i feel good knowing i could switch to dark mage build, plant/minion build, ancient magic build, or throw build whenever i want. sorry if this was long winded i just wanted to explain everything i was thinking/doing.
Personally, I think Ancient Magic Throw Expertise is one of the very best talents in the game, since so many enemies can be disarmed with Expelliarmus, so I would definitely keep that. As for what could be swapped: I find Swift to be much less useful than it seems, as the dodge is perfectly fine without the teleport (which, honestly, throws me off more than it helps). That could either go into stealth skills, or into Stupefy Mastery or Basic Cast Airbourne Absorption. Depulso Mastery is okay, as is Incendio Mastery, but those two I would drop before Curse Sapper, especially on higher difficulties where Curse Sapper is great for survivability.
Overall, though, aside from not having Ancient Magic Throw Expertise, I think this is a very solid build that will enable you to really explore all aspects of the systems in the game without leaving you struggling.
alr ty i wasnt sure about curse sapper since in normal i haven’t had any issues without it so thank you and i dont like using stupefy mastery because as soon as you knock them up or cc them in some way you instantly lose the effect which for me normally happens as soon as i use it tbh. as for Airborne Absorption i originally had that but i realised in high volume enemy fights normally 6 or more and depending on the enemies of course i dont find myself being able to juggle consistently with the dodging blocking and so on being so frequent plus i couldnt juggle large enemies so i chose to just use protego absorption and evasion absorption due to them always procing since thats something you have to do throughout every fight… though i do think its good especially having the blood curse talent and all it was a nice bonus i just wasnt being able to take advantage of it consistently enough for me but i might mess with it again and go into a battle arena and see how much i like it now
i do agree with your opinion on swift though i feel like i only use it to line up Diffindo or to go through a crouch hole and half the time i forget about it and accidently use it in a fight. It does feel nice as a movement skill but only in places that dont allow broom and such

Ok this is the build I’ve ended up going with and i love it. The 2 unused points are basically free points you can use wherever based on what you want like maxing out the stealth tree, getting more spell slots, or grabbing stupefy and airborne absorption mastery (you could also put them into the spell tree but for me i felt that the 2 perks left in that tree were useless to me and how i play). ive kept swift just because its a nice movement mechanic, looks good, and helps me line up Diffindo or close distance for something like Incendio since i wont be using Accio as i like Levioso more plus it was the only way i could convince myself to keep swift.
Personally im just gonna keep moving those 2 points around until i find something i like but i might just put them in stealth so i can use an ambush trait build with disillusionment easier(i feel its not really needed for that build though) but if not they’ll end up in Stupefy Mastery and Airborne Absorption since i dont believe i need more than 2 groups of spell slots for most if not any builds and i dont see myself ever using Depulso or Accio(especially over Levioso since i think using both at the same time is not that useful. Also if you were curious i tend to use Descendo for all my purple shield shattering+dmg needs)
P.S.
If u want an extra point for some reason you can remove Enduring Curse and use that point elsewhere if you dont care about the duration of the curse on every enemy or feel its unnecessary BUT JUST BE AWARE YOU GO FROM A “around” 42secound duration TO A around 22secound duration if you remove it (i say around because i got those numbers timing it myself)……. If you’re curious about why i even have this its because in combat i use Crucio then hit the target to spread the curse around so i can have the dmg bonus from the curse effect plus if i ever want to do a dark mage thing i have everything i need i can also use the Imperio effect for a longer duration if i ever want to do something with that (though i dont actually know the duration diffrence on Imperio)
“SINCE I’M CURIOUS ABOUT THIS NOW ILL REPLY TO THIS L8R AFTER I TEST HOW FAST Crucio COOLSDOWN WITH A FOCUS POTION IS AND MAYBE HOW BIG THE DURATION DIFFRENCE WITH Imperio IS IF I DONT SEE IT POSTED ANYWHERE. SO I CAN FIND OUT IF Enduring Curse IS NEEDED OR IF I FEEL THAT I CAN USE THE POINT ELSEWHERE”
My current spell set up is:
SPELL SET 1
SPELL SET 2
^^^
(I swap both if i need more than one spell swapped but of course this is all preference)
UPDATE: Enduring Curse is unnecessary so dont put a point into it unless you want to (explanation below)
Firstly(about Crucio cooldown):
The cooldown of Crucio is the exact same as the duration it has on an enemy (around 20seconds) and with a focus potion you can essentially spam it so Enduring curse isnt really needed (unless you want it so that the curse last longer until you recast it… so basically if you’re to lazy to recast it and u want to skip it every other rotation of skills i guess would be my only reason to use Enduring Curse but thats assuming new enemies aren’t spawning throughout the fight of course)
Secondly(about Imperio duration):
Imperio duration is around 20secounds without Enduring Curse and with it its around 20secounds so zero difference
“Now i find it unlikely but it might just not be working since i tested it in the dark arts battle arena on a character who hasnt unlocked the skill itself but im going to just assume it only affects the duration of the curse itself (the green X on enemies) since i know it does that for a fact”
if anyone else tests this in the open world please do let me know your conclusion
Conclusion: Here’s the build without Enduring Curse now you have 3 free talent points to use wherever

I’ve heard the ability from Avada Kedavra to kill all cursed targets is big in AOE fights. Wouldn’t it be nice to have the supporting talents (Stunning curse, Disarming curse, Knockback curse, Slowing curse and even Imperio Mastery) in order to multi curse everyone and then BOOM kill em all?
the reason i dont use those is because Crucio Mastery spreads curse to a new enemy everytime you hit the target affected by Crucio. Just to be clear Crucio (without outside factors like basic cast mastery or focus potions) has a 20 second cooldown which is the same as the curse effect duration after its been applied (curse might actually last 22seconds) so u can basically just keep reapplying and spreading for a 100% up-time of every enemy having the curse effect. though i would advise either hitting the Crucio targeted enemy with basic attacks or putting it on a tanky target so you can spread it more.
but if you do want an extra skill to apply curse with use Flippendo(Knockback Curse in dark arts tree) since its cooldown is crazy low u can almost spam it. i just personally dont believe i need since even if for some reason i mess up Crucio i can just pop a focus potion to get it back almost instantly or basic attack the weak enemy to get the most spread out of it.
Any thoughts on this build?

Considerations:
(1) I’m not endgame yet, so I’m considering how strong the Dark Arts ‘… has the same effect as a curse has on an enemy’ are. I’ve read that the AOE avada kedavra ‘… kills all cursed enemies’ is big to kill off a group of enemies at once. Should I drop some DA talents or actually add the three missing?
(2) Spells section: Seems basic.
(3) Core section: I think its nice to have the increased revilio talent, although that is more if you want to explore everything and not miss anything. Dropped swift as per earlier discussion here in the comments. Still considering to take Stupefy Mastery.
(4) Stealth section: Seems straightforward. I figured for exploration Sense of Secrecy might come in handy, but I don’t have talents left to spend and I am not sure what to drop for it.
(5) Room of Requirement section: This seems to be the biggest black box for someone who isn’t endgame. In other games I’m usually not that big of a fan of gathering resources and crafting all kinds of potions that I do not end up using, unless this is a big element of the fighting system. Is this super big and should you without doubt spec in it 8/8 or can you drop some of these talents?
Also, in which order would you take these talents?
Could someone please review this build? https://eip.gg/hogwarts-legacy/talent-planner/?build=LUMebofaORNVHqipBjsCQPTwctmguhlEFdzn
Challenge build right here:
https://eip.gg/hogwarts-legacy/talent-planner/?build=RvLMHN
All you get is swift, human demiguise, Revelio Mastery and Spell Knowledge 1, 2, 3.
This is showing a total of 40 points, but with points starting at level 5, you only get 36 points. Am I missing something?
It shows a total of 36 available points to me
Curses build : I keep everything except the whole room of requirements section and slowing curse, knockback curse, stunning curse and disarming curse.
Potions build : I keep everything except fertiliser, headache, noxious. For the curses section I only keep the curse sapper.
I made these without spoiling myself about the game, I only consulted the list of talents (and traits).
If you have a piece of advice that doesn’t contain spoilers, feel free 😉
