The Owl Bell Tower Puzzle is part of the All’s Well That Ends Bell side quest given by Evangeline. While the puzzle is part of the quest, it can be completed without picking up the quest, however, it will not grant you any rewards if completed before the quest is picked up! Keep in mind that you will want to have Wingardium Leviosa unlocked to make the puzzle much easier to complete. It is possible to complete it using a different array of spells, however.

Owl Bell Tower Puzzle Location
The Owl Bell Tower can be accessed quite easily, by entering the castle through the Bell Tower Courtyard entrance.

The fastest way to reach the puzzle is by fast-traveling to the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame. Once inside, you will want to take the staircase to the right that leads to the Music Room. Then, after you enjoy the toad song for a while, you can ascend inside the Bell Tower by going up the staircase shown in the image above.
Prerequisites for the Owl Bell Tower Puzzle
Before attempting to complete the Owl Bell Tower Puzzle, you will want to unlock the famous Wingardium Leviosa, a spell that allows Witches and Wizards to levitate heavy objects with a simple movement of a wand!
How to Unlock Wingardium Leviosa
While we might expect the Charms Class to teach us Wingardium Leviosa, we will actually learn it from Professor Garlick during Professor Garlick’s Assignment I. Our lovely Herbology Professor will grant us the spell once we manage to unlock the Room of Requirement.
How to Solve the Owl Bell Tower Puzzle
After you pick up the All’s Well That Ends Bell quest and reach the Bell Tower, you will encounter the first piece of the puzzle while you ascend the stairs.
First Bell Location First Bell Slot
As shown in the images above, you will have to useWingardium Leviosato carry the bell up the stairs and place it inside the third slot in the lower bell row.
Second Bell LocationSecond Bell Slot
After you place the first bell, continue ascending the stairs to discover the second bell behind the next flight of stairs. Then, castWingardium Leviosa on the second bell and carry it down and place it in the first slot of the second row of bells. Once you do so, you will get to enjoy a wonderful melody and quite a spectacular display!
While the main way of completing the puzzle is by using the Wingardium Leviosa, the quest can also be completed by using the Accio, Levioso, and Depulso spells to place the bells in their respective slots. However, this will require extreme precision and quite a hefty amount of time.
If you wanted to do this on purpose, keep in mind that if you have already unlocked Wingardium Leviosa, you will automatically cast it on the Bell, even if you use Accio or Levioso!
