Both PC and console versions of Gotham Knights received similar patches today, with the biggest update coming in the form of two new game modes. Both new modes are free, and available to players with any version of the base game. The 4-player PvE mode Heroic Assault was promised pre-launch, but Showdown, which lets up to two players face off against the game’s main bosses, comes as a something of a surprise.
Offering 30 floors of enemies to fight through with your friends, Heroic Assault also features a new enemy: Starro, the Conqueror. He sounds like he’s probably a boss, and he’s also got a familiar foe by his side — a Man-Bat. Given that players will “venture into the depths below Gotham City”, it sounds like you’ll be fighting lower and lower as you progress through this new mode. For groups of 3-4, this new game mode should be a great way to finally get everyone in the same lobby for some Gotham Knights action.
Showdown is the second new mode, offering a chance to face off with all of the game’s main bosses: Clayface, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, and Talia al Ghul. These fights feature “supercharged” versions of the bosses, presumably with new moves and more health and damage. You’ll be able to earn new legendary gear blueprints and unique suit and Batcycle colorways by defeating the bosses in this mode.

– Adjustment of CPL value, to make it more representative of the gear strength
