Thor God of Thunder

Overview

This build sort of combines the mythical Thor and Marvel Thor, however I have some recommendations on how to gear this build a bit more towards one or the other (bottom paragraph). Yes this build is all about the God of Thunder and his hammer Mjolnir that will always return to his hand and I’ll admit, while it is still pretty strong, it might not be the most game-breaking build. Giving the hammer a Lightning affinity basically removes its strength scaling making that stat effectively useless unfortunately and with the heavy stat cost to deal some real damage you aren’t really able to scale up faith to buff this build or RP commanding lightning by casting dragon cult incantations. Nevertheless I hope you have some fun with it.

Early Game

Most of the stuff you need is in SOTE so it’s kind of late game but there are some good options for earlier equipment. The Giant-Crusher and Brick Hammer are pretty early on weapons that are very fitting for RP and very powerful with most of this build minus the stats. I would honestly recommend pumping strength and then respecing once you reach the Smithscript Greathammer. If you don’t want to do that you could always just use the dex/str weapon of your choice but I would still recommend something that will cater towards the build so you don’t have to look for too much outside equipment.

Talismans

I’ve found some information that says the Axe talisman works with the Smithscript Greatswords charged attack but I’m honestly not entirely sure if it does yet. If it doesn’t or if charging your R2 attacks is not your playstyle, I would recommend the Arrow’s Reach talisman as it increases the range of the thrown projectile. If you plan on using your ash of war more frequently you could swap out the Axe Talisman or the Lighting Scorpion Charm for the Shard of Alexander.

Ashes of War

I chose Golden land because slamming your hammer into the ground to summon golden rays of light sounded very Thor-like to me but any of the Storm Ashes of War or Lightning Ashes of War would probably be just as good for RP.

Myth vs. Marvel

Honestly the biggest thing for me is the cosmetic difference between the two versions of Thor. In Norse myth Thor was known for being a HEAVY drinker and eater so he was way more short and stout than the chiseled Chris Hemsworth made him out to be. Keep that in mind for the character creator but the armor definitely helps a lot. For the more round version of Thor from myth, I would recommend Lionel’s Chestplate for the big belly, either versions of Radahn’s Greaves and Gauntlets, and either; the Veteran’s Helm, Radahn’s Helm, or any Viking looking helm you please. For the Marvel Thor I would recommend either of Radahn’s armor sets or the Cleanrot Knights armor set for the big red cape and otherwise heroic look. Playstyle really depends on how you see both interpretations of the character and which one you think would be more fun to fight as.

Endings? (Spoilers)

This is more personal interpretation of how the character would want to end their journey so you can choose to do whatever. I think Thor would either get the Age of Fracture Ending or the Age of Stars Ending. Age of Fracture because he would mostly just want to fight strong opponents and would really look for other endings and Age of Stars because he would want the gods (himself included) to be separated from life and fate so that mortals could choose there own fate. You could also look at this like “Thor fighting in Ragnarok” or “Thor traveling the Nine Realms” but I also just like this ending the most because it’s the most different and creative ending, besides the edgelord ending.

That’s all. Lmk what you think.
