What’s up? I’ve been really in to builds based on fictional characters lately so this is a build inspired by Joker from Persona 5. This is my first build I made myself. Please enjoy and let me know of ways to improve this build and future builds.
Gameplay
This is mostly just a black knife build and black flame build smashed together but it works pretty well. The Reduva played a huge role in getting me as far as the Altus Plateau so I would recommend getting that. This is a pretty stat heavy build since it only starts working super well past around level 80, before then it’s mostly spamming the Blade of Death skill while Mimic Tear tanks all the damage. If you end up using Mimic Tear make sure you have plenty of healing items so it can help you with the fights because its way easier that way. Honestly, I was duel wielding the whole playthrough and only really used the seal to apply buffs.
Build Customization
- Class: Confessor probably works better for this build but I think bandit is more accurate to a thief and it also has better starting equipment for this build in my opinion.
- Main-hand: This was originally going to be a black knife build but I found out backhand blade existed and it seemed like the perfect weapon for Joker. I still think the black knife is valuable to the build with its faith scaling so I kept it in.
- Supporting Armaments: These can all be placed in whatever order you like. I thought Crepus’s Crossbow was the most accurate to a pistol but the Mighty Shot ashes of war reminds me of Joker’s downing shot ability plus the Erdtree Bow has faith scaling. You can also swap the Godslayer’s Seal for the Giant’s Seal but the Godslayer’s Seal is pretty easy to get despite its high stat requirements.
- Arcane: I think this build could work really well if it were geared toward arcane but it already stretches stats enough with high dex, fai, and str, requirements. The backhand blade could be an awesome blood weapon and you could use blood or dragon communion incantations but I thought black flame incantations were most like curse damage in P5 and Arsene is really good with curse and fire attacks.
- Spirit Ashes: I think Mimic Tear is the best spirt ashes for this build because; 1. It’s awesome and 2. It fits with summoning your inner self. Joker is known for his ability to switch persona’s so spirit ashes don’t really matter in terms of RP
- Armor: This is the best armor I could find, please let me know if you find something better. If you want a head armor I gravitated most toward Alberich’s Pointed Hat (Altered) because it doesn’t obscure much of the face and also helps if you want to try and do thorn sorceries as well as everything else. Rakshasa’s gloves were the hardest to get because she really punishes builds with lower defense and poise but the buff the gloves give is super helpful if you don’t get hit often. Some alternatives to those are the Omenkiller’s long gloves, noble gloves, depraved perfumer gloves, or Rellana’s gloves.
