If you want a magic based build that’s powerful without being a glass cannon this is a good one I created with balanced stats on everything. You start with the samurai class and the moonveil that you can get at the start of the game with enough patience and then you do ranni’s questline for the dark moon greatsword, you can keep the moonveil in your slots just in case you need a faster weapon for a certain boss without affecting your midroll.
You can also swap rellana’s armor for spellblade’s set if you want a little bit more damage but that would make you a glass cannon again…
Did I mention is stylish as hell? (I love rellana’s set). You can use any armor with 30% damage absorption minimum (with the dragoncrest greatshield talisman) and 50 poise while you get to rellana, I used cleanrot set that looks good too for around 35% damage absorption in every category and good poise but I wasn’t able to keep both mele weapons on me (get creative).
For the spells you have all round options from closed to high range, rennala’s full moon does a lot of damage and reduces damage absorption by 10% so it’s a good option to use at the start of a battle before the boss get’s to you to do a lot of damage at the start of the battle, adula’s moonblade helps with the freezing build up at long distance and does fair damage and lastly but not less important loretta’s greatbow helps with those enemies at really long distances that your comet doesn’t reach (or for camping if you play with someone and gets the aggro but probably rellana’s full moon its better in those cases unless you dont have much fp). You can always change any spells depending on your necessities but I would recommend keeping terra magicus and golden vow since those are your main buffs.
This is my all round magic build which I created on my first playthrough of elden ring and made the game really fun and challenging at the same time. Let me know if you have any feedback, I always appreciate advice. bye bye
