The inability to change your character’s appearance after first creating them might be one of the biggest little gripes players have about Baldur’s Gate 3. After all, its dense character customization options are only available at the very beginning of the game, even though players may want to change their appearance after that (perhaps to reflect scars, change hairstyles, or — you know — just ’cause. Well, players might be in luck! In response to a Tweet (erm, sorry, “Post”) asking for the ability to change character appearances, Larian Studio’s Director of Publishing, whose handle is @Cromwelp, responded with 4 hopeful words: “Things are being cooked”
Now, this is a reply to a Post on Twitter (Sorry, sorry, “𝕏”), and shouldn’t be taken as gospel, but it is fair to say that it is pretty promising when a major executive says something that fans have been asking for is “being cooked.” Now, from just this, we aren’t given a timeframe or any reveals about what character re-customization will look like, but given the speed at which Larian is pumping out Hotfixes, it might be fair to suspect it’ll be out sooner rather than later.
For the time being, we can only sit and wait to see what comes of this. And, like @Cromwelp, do our best to try and take out that dang Phase Spider Matriarch. Here, by the way, is the tweet that started the thread (and a sentiment we can all relate to):
I save-scummed the spider queen fight like 37 times. Didn’t even kill her in the end. Thunderwave into the Underdark. On the plus side, Thunderwave into the Underdark sounds like a fucking good metal album.
Graves is an avid writer, web designer, and gamer, with more ideas than he could hope to achieve in a lifetime. But, armed with a mug of coffee and an overactive imagination, he’ll try. When he isn’t working on a creative project, he is painting miniatures, reading cheesy sci-fi novels, or making music.
