Consecrated Snowfield Dungeons – Elden Ring

In the list below, you can find walkthroughs for the dungeons in the Consecrated Snowfield. If you’re looking for a walkthrough of the Consecrated Snowfield, head here.

The Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs are an icy gauntlet of frost traps, Erdtree Burial Watchdogs, and Cleanrot Knights. The maze-like layout forces players to contend with enemies in tight spaces while avoiding deadly frost-spewing traps, often requiring quick movement and strategic retreats. The imps here are especially aggressive, often ambushing from ceilings or hiding near traps. Despite the dangers, there are valuable rewards hidden throughout, including the Imp Head (Elder) and multiple Great Grave Gloveworts.

Once the boss door is unlocked, the fight itself is surprisingly straightforward—a lone Putrid Grave Warden Duelist that, while tough, is much less of a challenge compared to the journey through the dungeon. With perseverance (or just a lot of sprinting), the Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs provide both frustration and worthwhile rewards.

Yelough Anix Tunnel is the only tunnel in the Consecrated Snowfield, offering a wealth of high-level smithing materials, including an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. Careful searching rewards players with numerous Smithing Stones [8] and a Somber Smithing Stone [9]. Enemies include frozen miners who awaken when approached and two Onyx Lords that can be fought or bypassed. The tunnel’s design includes multiple vertical sections with ladders and a shortcut door that provides a faster route to the boss.

The boss, Astel, Stars of Darkness, is a copy/paste variant of Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, with the ability to summon illusory clones when teleporting. While its attacks remain largely the same, players must be wary of its grab, which only the real Astel can perform. Defeating it rewards the Meteorite of Astel sorcery, making this dungeon very useful for sorcery users and players looking for late-game upgrade materials.

The Cave of the Forlorn is an icy cavern, home to misbegotten warriors, jellyfish, and a few scattered rats. The cave’s twisting paths lead through frozen chambers filled with Miquella’s Lilies and hidden ledges overlooking underground pools. Some areas offer optional encounters with larger misbegotten, while others are best skipped due to minimal rewards. The cave’s unique structure even allows players to look through the ice at creatures moving beneath them.

At the cave’s lowest depths, a final stretch filled with jellyfish leads to the boss arena, where the Misbegotten Crusader awaits. This powerful enemy wields the Golden Order Greatsword, one of the game’s legendary weapons. While the path through the cave can be treacherous, the rewards make it well worth exploring.
