Jagged Peak Bosses – Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

In the list below, you can find guides for bosses in the Jagged Peak region of the Realm of Shadows (Shadow of the Erdtree expansion). We also have a dedicated Jagged Peak Walkthrough to assist you in your travels (or feel free to use the walkthrough menu below).

There are a total of three bosses in the Jagged Peak, with the last being one of the most difficult (and enjoyable) fights in the entire game. All of the bosses in the region are dragons, making for an ardous climb to the top of the Jagged Peak.

At the beginning of your climb up the Jagged Peak, you will run into several Jagged Peak Drakes. There are two separate fights with these Drakes. The first one is a solo fight, where a dragon (which you can avoid) will attack you in a pool of water, while the second is a duel — that is, there are two Jagged Peak Drakes fighting each other, with only one of the drakes actually having a boss health bar (while the weaker of the two has only a regular health bar).

Because these Drakes use the same moveset and mechanics as regular dragon fights, they can be defeated in much the same way as you would normally fight a dragon. The difficulty can come from the positioning required to take on two Drakes at once, which can lead to tricky situations if you aren’t careful. Defeating the dueling Drake is essential in order to summon Igon during your fight with Bayle the Dread.

Ancient Dragon Senessax is the final ancient dragon in the game. They are also one of the hardest, even though you ought to have plenty of experience fighting ancient dragons by the time you reach Senessax.

Among the things that make them difficult is that they sit in a huge pool of water, which contributes to Senessax’s red lightning moves by allowing the lightning to spread out in dangerous ways. In addition, Senessax also has a large health pool and the same hard moveset of any ancient dragon.

At the summit of the Jagged Peak, you can find Bayle the Dread. This formidable and unique dragon fight is one of the hardest in the game, and completely reinvents the typical dragon fight in Elden Ring. Tight timings and a huge health pool are balanced out by Bayle giving you easy access to headshots and fair moves.

While Bayle is a tough enemy, his very readable and fair attacks make for an engaging fight that simply requires you to react correctly. This is made somewhat easier if you use one of the most entertaining NPC summons in the game, Drake Warrior Igon (who will be available if you slew the dueling Jagged Peak Drake earlier).
