Z’khara Act 1

Orphaned in the Astral Sea and left to scavenge among shattered hulls and drifting stone with no memory of her parents, Z’khara learned early that survival belongs to the unseen. Hunger, cold silence, and predation were her tutors. She learned to slip small treasures from inattentive hands, to move unseen, to leave no trace, to endure, to survive.

When a Githyanki patrol claimed her, they did not save her — they forged her. Discipline replaced desperation. Structure replaced chaos. In the creche, she discovered something unexpected: she loved the art. The discretion of the darkness. The geometry of violence. Combat is not sport nor madness—it is a dance of subterfuge, precision, and blood.

Mastery meant control.

Control meant she would never be destitute again. Never would she be reliant on anyone.

Her last mission was simple: cleanse a remote settlement. Leave nothing alive.

After infiltrating the camp, she saw small figures huddled in fear. Sharp-eyed. Hungry. Small Children. Defiant in that fragile way she remembered too well.

For the first time, her blade felt heavy.

That’s when the nautiloid came. The sky tore open. And she was taken by the Ghaik who had once enslaved her people.

The moment was taken from her and only left questions in the lurch.

Would she have defied her Queen?

Would she see the blood of children flow and slaughter them?

But, what now?

Now infected, adrift, and forced to survive once more, Z’khara quietly questions Vlaakith’s divinity and what those whispers about Prince Orpheus were.

Z’khara forges ahead. Slinking from shadow to shadow. There, she is powerful — an instrument of her own design & will. Something, something, fight to survive bullshit.
