Veiled Butcher

Edward — The Veiled Butcher

In the war councils of Baldur’s Gate, Edward was once known as a brilliant commander — a high elf who led soldiers with clarity, discipline, and unwavering resolve. His strategies saved cities. His courage inspired armies.

But victory always came with a cost.

Too many graves.
Too many friends buried beneath banners they once fought under.

When the wars ended, Edward realized something terrible: evil rarely dies on the battlefield. It retreats. It hides in shadows, behind politics, wealth, and influence.

So Edward changed his war.

He laid down the commander’s cloak and took up a hunter’s mantle. Now he walks the world not as a general of armies, but as a solitary executioner of the wicked.

People whisper his new name in fearful tones:

The Veiled Butcher.

It is not a title he asked for — but it is one he earned.

Edward has set aside the comfort of moral purity. He understands something most heroes refuse to admit: sometimes justice requires brutal choices. Mercy can be exploited. Laws can be manipulated. Evil can wear the mask of innocence.

Edward sees through those masks.

His power is a terrifying blend of discipline and predation:

  • The oath-bound fury of a Vengeance Paladin, driving him to hunt the wicked without rest.
  • The deadly instincts of a Gloom Stalker Ranger, allowing him to move through darkness like a phantom predator.
  • The elegant lethality of a College of Swords Bard, turning every movement of his weapon into lethal artistry.

In battle he wields long-reaching polearms — glaive, halberd, pike, spear, even quarterstaff when needed. Weapons that dominate space itself.

And Edward moves with shocking speed.

The battlefield becomes a cage of steel. His polearm sweeps, thrusts, and hooks with relentless precision. Enemies who think distance will protect them quickly learn the truth — Edward controls every step they take.

The first strike often comes from the shadows.
The second carries divine vengeance.
The third ends the fight.

His enemies rarely reach him.

Those who do regret it instantly.

Despite the grim title, Edward is not a monster. He is a hero who carries the weight of necessary cruelty so others don’t have to. Every brutal decision he makes is measured against a single question:

What protects the future?

If sparing an enemy today risks countless innocent lives tomorrow, Edward will not hesitate.

Because he already knows what happens when evil is allowed to survive.

If allowing evil to breathe today ensures its total eradication tomorrow, he will make that choice without hesitation.

When night falls and the streets grow quiet, criminals whisper about a tall figure moving through the dark with a long blade of steel. A warrior who strikes faster than thought and disappears before witnesses can even scream.

A hero to the innocent.

A nightmare to the guilty.

Edward, the fallen commander.

The hunter of wicked men.

The Veiled Butcher.
