This build can be used for solo runs or with friends. This build was tested in a lone wolf honor run by me and it is possible to use this build for lone wolf runs. It’s best to be the Dark Urge for this build but can also be used as a custom character.
Where the idea came from, but if you just want more details on the build go to the first bullet point.
I based this from one of my actual D&D builds I used to add to the world of my friend’s campaign at his request. It led to a side quest to find out my characters origin (she didn’t anything about her father) a bit for the party and introduce demigods and boons from gods. The Wood Elf “Naomi Daughter of Talos” was the first demigod they met. (Talos is the Forgotten Realms Chaotic Evil greater god of storms and destruction. Introduced in the October 1981 Ed Greenwood’s article “Down-to-earth Divinity” Dragon #54. Yes, I did the research. Yes, I am that much of a nerd for Dungeons and Dragons.)
- Death stalker mantle and slayer form are optional.
- Wood elf could be substituted for Drow, but you’d have to take a feat in place of an ability score improvement in order to use longbows unless you want to use the Darkfire Shortbow as a Drow. Four levels Rouge and eight levels Sorcerer. Thief Rouge for extra bonus action and Shadow Magic Sorcerer for Strength of the Grave, and Hound of Ill Omen.
- Rouge is starting class just to be able to get to the extra bonus action early game.
- Sorcerer doesn’t have much in the way of support items mainly because ability score improvements are supporting its power while the items are supporting rouge mainly.
Damage spells are barely used in this build because weapon attacks are the main damage source, but Magic Missile is used for when you aren’t able to see the target(s) directly, and Fireball is used for when there are more targets in one area then you can burst down with arrows of many targets. The cantrips Booming Blade, Bone Chill, and Shocking Grasp are all very useful for not only damage but the extra status effects they do, but firebolt is just used for setting the environment on fire such as barrels and Spike Growth, but Minor Illusion is to pull attention away from yourself so that you can get sneak attack damage or pass by enemy’s unnoticed. Shield is extra AC when needed.
- The utility leveled spells are self-explanatory and the setup for them is all based off of stealth or attacking more than once per turn from Haste or moving an extra bit with Misty Step to stay stealthie/flee an unwinnable situation.
Lastly, you’ll need the Metamagics: Distant, Extended, and Quickened spell. They add the extra bit needed for the spell casting side of the build to be enhanced further increasing their usefulness/effectiveness in and out of combat.
(Note: If you are using Unlock Level Curve mod. Take two more levels in Sorcerer than get the spells Cloud Kill and Cone of Cold with the cantrip Ray of Frost and Metamagic: Subtle spell. After that take six more levels in Rouge. At level eighteen and twenty take ability score improvements with level eighteen being Charisma and Dexterity improvements and twenty being Dexterity and Constitution improvements. You can also take the last six levels in fighter of your choice, but this build does better with just Rouge and Sorcerer.)
