You’ve spent the last 10 years of your life in service to Ilmater after losing your mother to her illness. Being unable to find a cure for her you vowed to do whatever necessary to help others and ease or even take away their pain. After being abducted from Baldur’s Gate while on your way to help someone you found yourself with an unusual group of companions. Knowing how to mend wounds and sometimes even take the pain on yourself you decide to help this group that is in the same situation as yourself.
This build is a multiclass between Life Domain Cleric and Abjuration Wizard. With this build you should be able to life ward your whole team, take half the damage for them, project wards to mitigate that damage, and even fully ignore some of the damage you absorb for them. If you’d like to make some tweaks to this build you could start as a White Draconic Sorcerer to have proficiency with CON saves and also learn Armor of Agathys which is an Abjuration spell. Most of the items/gear I have listed will help buff this build and even help mitigate even more damage but things can be substituted out if you’d like. The one feat that I feel is an absolute must is Heavy Armour Master since it will help you reduce damage taken which will reduce you and your parties survivability. Combat wise I would focus on healing up your party as needed, using your reactions to project wards on teammates/ casting counterspell, and dealing some damage with cantrips and spirit guardians. There are a few other control/utilities spell in your arsenal so use them as you see fit. You can pick any race for this build but if you’d like even more hit points I would definitely go with gold dwarf. I personally chose half wood elf for mobility and proficiencies.
