Servant of War

SERVANT OF WAR

Half-Orc Cleric (War Domain)
A frontline problem who turns divine magic into a gladiatorial clusterfuck.

This build does not heal your feelings.
It heals by ending the source of suffering permanently.

Servant of War is about authority through badassery.

Core Identity: The God Hits Back

This is a War Cleric built to stand in the worst possible place and shake his dick.

You are not a backline prayer circle.
You are not a fragile miracle muppet.
You are a weaponized religious experience.

You don’t ask permission from the battlefield. You consecrate it by force.

War Priest gives you extra attacks.
War Caster lets you punish movement with spells.
Resilient (CON) means concentration checks are a neat afterthought.

You don’t “support.”
You enforce the doctrine of {insert robed wonderboy}.

Stats & Foundation: Brick Theology

Wisdom 18 because your god actually answers your calls. Spell DC 18 means enemies don’t resist and can’t.

Constitution 18 because you are built like a fucking gigachad. HP 111. CON saves +10.

Strength 14 because you don’t need to be clever to swing a weapon with the religious conviction of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Dex, Int, Cha?
Irrelevant. You are not here to dodge, think, or flirt. You are here to take that ass.

Gear Philosophy: Stand There. Be Right.

Your AC is 25.
You are fully erect

Armour of Persistence means damage reduction and resistance just happen automatically. No reactions. No thoughts. It’s always on because you’re always in danger.

Viconia’s Walking Fortress is the shield equivalent of telling spellcasters to fuck off politely but firmly.

Helm of Balduran keeps you standing.
Cloak of Displacement makes enemies miss
Helldusk Boots mean terrain, gravity, and basic physics can eat shit.

You don’t kite.
You don’t chase.
That place will be your holy ground.

Weapons: Radiant Consequences

The Blood of Lathander is not a mace.
It’s a theological argument that’s somehow right.

Blinds enemies.
Punishes undead.
Refuses to let you die once per day.

Your bow exists (Hellrider Longbow), but mostly as a reminder that even at range, you’re still judging people more than Judge Judy.

Action Economy: No Wasted Turns

Every turn does something meaningful.

  • Spirit Guardians turns your immediate area into a slow, painful apology
  • Radiant Orb stacking ensures enemies are worse at everything
  • Opportunity spells mean walking away is a mistake
  • War Priest attacks mean you hit again just to be sure

You don’t nova.
You grind shit down.

Enemies don’t fall over immediately.
They deteriorate into shitpiles.

Control Without Subtlety

You bang that war drum harder than a dorm room mattress.

Enemies lose effectiveness because:

  • Their attacks miss (Displacement + AC)
  • Their saves fail (high DC + debuffs)
  • Their movement hurts (Spirit Guardians)
  • Their god clearly likes you more and wants to tickle your nips

Out-of-Combat Role: The Threat in the Room

You’re no charmer

  • Insight +8
  • Perception +4
  • Intimidation +4

People cooperate because arguing with you is unhealthy.

The Feel of Playing It

Playing Servant of War feels like this:

You walk into the fight.
You stop moving.
The fight reorganizes itself around you.
Enemies realize too late that leaving is harder than dying.
You remain.

One-Sentence Summary

A Half-Orc War Cleric who controls fights through presence, punishment, and divine inevitability. Be the main character.
