Lamenter’s Gaol is the smallest of the three gaols in the Shadow Realm, but it’s packed with hidden paths, deadly ambushes, and unique loot. The Jar Condemned enemies here are especially dangerous, capable of unleashing a screaming attack that damages in a radius. Early on, you’ll pick up the Gaol Upper Level Key, allowing access to the lower icy chambers. Here, you’ll encounter shades, rats, and secret drop-downs, eventually finding the Chilling Perfume Bottle and Clarifying Horn Charm +2. Keep an eye out for hidden doors, like the one concealing the Lamenting Visage torch.

The lower level leads into the Jar Room, where small Living Jars dance atop a pile of bodies, guarding a Hefty Cracked Pot and the Gaol Lower Level Key. This key unlocks the final passage leading to the Lamenter, where defeating them rewards the Lamenter’s Mask. With all paths explored, this grim dungeon is fully cleared, leaving only the echoes of suffering behind.
