Abyssal Woods Dungeon Walkthroughs – Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

The Abyssal Woods, a dark and foreboding forest shrouded in mist and madness, hides many secrets—but only one dungeon. Though there isn’t exactly much choice, this one dungeon presents a unique challenge and valuable rewards for those who dare to brave its depths. This guide covers the one and only dungeon at the end of the Abyssal Woods and what to expect inside it. We also have a dedicated Abyssal Woods Walkthrough to assist you in your travels.

  • Unique Rewards:
    • Nanaya’s Torch
    • Mad Craftsman’s Cookbook (3)
    • Revered Spirit Ash x2
    • Remembrance of the Lord of Frenzied Flame

Midra’s Manse is the sinister, labyrinthine manor hidden deep in the Abyssal Woods. Shadow Undead and Horned Warriors lurk in twisting hallways, while Candle Inquisitors attack with fire and holy magic. The eerie atmosphere builds as you unlock secret passages, including a painting that conceals the way forward and a bookcase that moves to create a new platforming path. Scattered throughout the twisting halls and libraries, you’ll find rare crafting materials, powerful spirit ashes, and madness-related loot, such as Nanaya’s Torch and the Mad Craftsman’s Cookbook (3).

As you climb deeper into the manse, you’ll encounter deadly ambushes, hidden passages, and shortcut ladders that ease your return. The final confrontation is an unsettling encounter with Midra, Lord of the Frenzied Flame, where an apparently broken figure transforms into the boss, leading to one of the most challenging and visually striking battles in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Defeating him grants the Remembrance of the Lord of Frenzied Flame, concluding this twisted journey into madness and despair.
