Starfield has been pushed back once again, but we finally have a new release date: September 6th. Bethesda announced the new date today, along with the date of the game’s long-awaited Developer Direct showcase, which will follow Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, a week before E3.
There’s been very little new information about the game in recent months, leading fans to suspect further delays. Originally, the game was announced for November 11, 2022, but that was later changed to the first half of 2023. Now it seems the game will be almost a year late.
The Launch Date Announcement Trailer features some new footage of a Constellation star station and one of the alien artifacts that the player will be seeking out as part of the game’s main quest. There is also some behind-the-scenes footage of Todd Howard in the studio, expressing excitement about the game and thanking fans for their enthusiasm. We get a few glimpses of developers playing the game, including a glimpse of a planet with some dinosaur-like creatures.
Starfield is currently the most wishlisted game on Steam.
