Location

Go to Akila City on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne System.
Do the quest, Job Gone Wrong when entering the city (bank heist, center of town).
Follow steps to join Freestar Rangers.
Select crimson pirate captain quest from the Freestar Ranger’s mission board.
Attack pirate captain’s ship, knock out engines, then save the game BEFORE boarding.
Board and clear ship.
If the Red Pirate Captain Gear is not on from captain’s corpse, reload the game.
Repeat steps 6-7 until you find the gear on the captain.
