Upcoming Night City Wire to Reveal What’s Next for Cyberpunk 2077

It’s been a long time since we’ve had an episode of Night City Wire — almost two years, in fact — but it’s returning in less than a week. Tuesday, September 6th at 11AM EST (3PM UTC), CD Projekt Red will reveal what’s next for Cyberpunk 2077 on a special episode of Night City Wire; they’ll also shed some light on the upcoming anime set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The announcement of the special episode included a brief teaser video, which you can see below.

Additional details were posted on the game’s Steam page –the stream will start with a 23-minute Night City Wire episode, which will feature CDPR communications lead Paweł Burza, one of the creators of Edgerunners Bartosz Sztybor, along with the Game Director of CP2077 Gabriel Amatangelo. After the Night City Wire episode will be REDStreams #3, in which Patrick Mills (Franchise and Lore Designer) and Miles Tost (Senior Level Designer) will do a deep dive on some specific features of the upcoming patch.

Some fans have speculated that there will be some crossover between the anime and the upcoming updates to the game, and there appears to be a jacket from the anime in the Night City Wire teaser trailer seen in-game (@0:14). Beyond that, all we can really say about the upcoming 1.6 update is that it would be nice to get some new content, given that 1.5 didn’t come with any significant additions to the game (no new missions, major features, etc).

In case you missed it, you can check out the trailer for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunnres anime below (NSFW). The anime will consist of ten 30-minute episodes, and it’s set to start streaming on Netflix September 13th.

Excited for the anime? Have anything you’re hoping to see in Patch 1.6? Let us know in the comments!
