There are a number of ways to complete Cyberpunk 2077, depending on what optional side quests you have completed before you reach the point in the game where the endings branch. The moment of choice comes after you stop by Viktor’s clinic in the main quest mission “Nocturne Op55N1”, once you are done talking to Misty and you speak with Johnny on the balcony. We’re not going to worry about all the options in this guide, however, just the secret ending “Don’t Fear the Reaper”.
How to Access the Secret Ending
Dialogue Choices on “Chippin’ In” Quest
To be able to access the “Don’t Fear the Reaper” secret ending, you will have to choose some specific dialogue options at the end of “Chippin’ In”, when you are by Johnny’s grave:
- The guy who saved my life.
- No, you fucked that up too.
- What do you want from me?
- Ok, but as second chances go, this is your last.

Dialogue Choices on “Nocturne Op55N1” Quest
To access this secret path, all you have to do is remain silent after Johnny lays out your options. You have to wait for quite a bit of time (think minutes), but eventually Johnny takes your silence as you not wanting to risk your friend’s lives. Instead, you’ll assault Arasaka Tower alone.
This option dramatically increases the difficulty of the final mission, so you’d better come prepared. Make sure you have a level 50 character build (or close to it), some legendary gear, and are comfortable with combat. There’s a reason you’ll need to be so ready: there’s no saving once the mission begins. However, there are a handful of autosave checkpoints throughout the mission, so keep trying if you get stuck — a save point might be just around the corner!
Since you don’t get to choose when to save during this mission, your best bet will probably be to complete the game once or twice first before you try the challenge ending. This is easily accomplished, as the game automatically creates a save right before the point of no return for the final mission. By trying a few of the “normal” endings, you can familiarize yourself with the layout of Arasaka Tower; going in blind will likely result in some quick deaths.
Note: This guide will be updated with strategies and tactics for the secret mission, once we finally beat it.
