Attachments are physical accessories for your Ranged Weapons, and include Muzzles and Scopes. Many guns can be equipped with a Muzzle, a Scope, or both. Below we will go over what it is that Scopes and Muzzles enhance, and all of the variations that are available in the game.
Scope Attachments
Scopes come in different rarities, but all ultimately decrease your ADS Time (aim down sight time, how long it takes you to swap in and out of aim stance) and increase your weapon’s Range along with the zoom level.
Tip: your ADS time with specific types of weapons can be greatly improved by leveling Skills and investing into Perks.
Muzzle Attachments
There are just four base types of Muzzle Attachments available, and they all trade your base damage (active combat damage) for your damage from stealth and your Crit Chance.
Tip: there isn’t much point in getting a Silencer/Muzzle Attachment without trying to execute sneak attacks. Level your Stealth Skill for Perks that will improve your silenced weapon and sneak attack damage. Cold Blood’s Frozen Precision Perk (Requires 11 in Cool Attribute) increases your headshot damage by 50%.
Muzzle Brake Attachments
Added by Patch 1.5, these new attachments are made specific to a gun type (you can see their type underneath their title). Most of them increase your gun’s ricochet angle, ricochet chance, and occasionally your ricochet damage. They can also reduce your recoil and spread.
Note that some of the Muzzle Brakes also significantly reduce your Crit Chance (often by a half).
