Canopic Jar Lagniappe – Alone in the Dark

A Canopic Jar is an item from Ancient Egypt, where someone’s embalmed innards are stored. A little disturbing, and perfect fit for a collectible item in Alone in the Dark. This guide explains the location of the Canopic Jar Lagniappe, what other pieces are in the set, and the bonus text it unlocks.

The Canopic Jar Lagniappe is located in the Sunken Temple of Chapter 3. You will be able to grab the Canopic Jar as soon as you slide the rope down into the temple. You’ll notice in the main room a giant statue of the Dark Man (Image 1). Directly in front of the statue on the ground is the Canopic Jar (Image 2).

The Canopic Jar is a part of the Vagabonds Lagniappe set. There are two other pieces in this set for players to find:

This set has an intriguing theme, as Vagabonds, since the items defamiliarize the concept of traveling. If you want a more in-depth defamiliarization, then you’ll have to collect all the pieces and read the bonus text. If you can’t, the text has been provided in the drop-down below, which you can reveal by clicking.
