New Cyberpunk 2077 Mods Offer 3rd Person, Male Romance With Judy

It didn’t take long for modders to add two features many players of Cyberpunk 2077 have long hoped for, creating a mod for a 3rd-person camera in the game as well as discovering a way to turn on male romance options for Judy.

Many players were disappointed when CD Projekt Red initially announced their design choice to go first-person only, so it was no surprise that it took less than a month for a 3rd person mod to show up. The same can be said for the option to romance Judy, as fans have lamented both the limitations as well as the overall amount of available romance options in Cyberpunk 2077. Both mods have their share of jank, but are otherwise fairly functional. The animations on the 3rd person mod are understandably funny looking, but you’ll finally get to see your awesome (and ridiculous) outfits as you stroll through Night City.

Eurogamer asked a CDPR rep whether or not the male V + Judy romance option was “cut content”, and were told the male voice lines for the romance with Judy were recorded as one of many extra voice lines recorded “so [CDPR] could avoid missing something by mistake”. Though some on social media were skeptical of this response, many games have hours of unused dialogue, and an interview with an Overwatch voice actress revealed that voice line sessions tend to try to be all-encompassing. It’s hard to say for sure at what point the devs decided to make Judy exclusively romanceable by female characters.

In any case, you can keep reading if you want to find out how to change it!

Both mods are relatively easy to install, although you’ll need to grab Cyber Engine Tweaks first. Instructions for installing Cyber Engine Tweaks can be found here.

  1. Install Cyber Engine Tweaks, if you haven’t already.
  2. Before you begin the “Check on Judy” mission, open the console (which Cyber Engine Tweaks makes accessible) and input the following code:

for i, v in next, {“judy”} do
Game.GetQuestsSystem():SetFactStr(v..”_romanceable”, 1)
end

Judy should now be romanceable as male V. If you want to see it in action, you can check out this video from FredrickFlower, who may have also been the one to discover this romance option. For a complete guide on romancing Judy, we’ve got you covered.
