How to Solve the Defiled Temple Puzzle – Baldur’s Gate 3

While exploring the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 you might stumble upon a Defiled Temple of Selûne the goblins are using as their prison. The far end of the temple has a room with four rotatable disks on the floor and a complete lack of instructions on what to do with them. This guide will explain how to solve the Defiled Temple puzzle.

If you’ve been following the game’s story or are up to date on Dungeons & Dragons lore, you should know that Selûne is a goddess of the moon who’s big on shining light into darkness. As such, your goal with the puzzle will be to rotate the disks in such a way that the four black orbs are located in the lighted area, or in other words – inside the southernmost disk.

There are multiple ways to achieve the desired results, but one possible sequence is to:

  • Click on the East disk twice.
  • Click on the North disk once.
  • Click on the West disk once.
  • Click on the South disk three times.
  • Click on the West disk twice.

Solving the puzzle will unlock a secret door leading to the Underdark and give characters with the Sage background The Phases Unfold Inspiration point.
