Media and fans have been guessing about the next Night City Wire Episode (number 3, that is) and whether the Tokyo Game Show at the end of September is involved. Well, now we are pretty sure it is!
— What you will see below is an old prediction! The date for Night City Wire: Episode 3 is coming up much sooner, on September 18th. We talk about it here! —
Tokyo Game Show is scheduled for September 26th at 2 PM JST (September 25th for us in United States), and the scheduled YouTube link is already up! Night City Wire: Episode 3 will be unveiled during the event, and most likely will be available for the English audiences around the same time. Perhaps we will hear more about the Cyberpunk EDGERUNNERS anime by Studio Trigger?
So, it is worth remembering that the reason many were doubting that Night City Wire 3 would come at the end of September was due to it being the third and last of the official developer discussions originally promised by CD Projekt Red. It didn’t quite make sense to release the last developer report before October.
Well, the reason it is coming out at the end of this month is that things have changed. We have some wonderful news for you.
Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Getting More Night City Wire Episodes In the Future!
On September 4th CD Projekt Red discussed the increasing marketing efforts starting in October (turns out we have only seen the tip of the iceberg: much more digital, out-of-home, print, and even TV marketing will be coming our way). Night City Wire will be a part of these efforts and we can expect more episodes in the next 2.5 months!
Here is exactly what Adam KiciÅ„ski, CD Projekt Red’s President and Joint CEO, has told us in H1 2020 investor webcast on Friday:
“There are a few more Night City Wires to come with the next one coming up in September,” and “… you can expect a few Night City Wires in the next 2,5 months in digital line among other activities.”
We will leave you with this surprising quote about CD Projekt Red’s upcoming marketing efforts:
“The main [marketing] push is targeted for the release window – a couple of weeks before, and lasting for several weeks after the game is released. How big will the push be? Definitely the biggest in our history.” Among many other baffling statistics, Adam mentioned that the scope of the campaign will be “at least 3 times bigger” than that of Witcher 3.
The fact that Cyberpunk 2077 fans are awaiting the next Night City Wire video discussing the game’s features so eagerly speaks to the game’s reach in the community and why the massive marketing will definitely be worth the effort. Who knows what the developers will have in store for us with the upcoming episodes?
