Overview

The Quantum Tuner is a Cyberware that’s very easy to miss, but if you do get it, it have a great effect for any other Cyberware that has a cooldown. Any time another Cyberware fully uses its cooldown effect, the Quantum Tuner will instantly restore the cooldown (or reduce it by 30 seconds if it has a longer cooldown).

How to Get Quantum Tuner

The Quantum Tuner can only be obtained by completing the quest From Her to Eternity — you can only get this quest in the Phantom Liberty DLC, and only if you side with Songbird towards the end. The quest will lead you directly to a chest that contains the Cyberware.

Best Uses for Quantum Tuner

Since the Quantum Tuner is meant to be paired other Cyberware with an active effect, this is a very versatile piece that can be used in many builds, as even builds not using a lot of Cyberware will still use an Operating System with an active effect.

High Intelligence builds will get extra use out of this Cyberware, as the Attunement effect gives you a small bonus to all damage with each point invested.

All Cyberware with Cooldowns

To understand all of your options, you might want to take a look at all of the Cyberware with cooldowns in the game:

  • Frontal Cortex:
  • Operating System:
    • Militech Berserk – 40 second cooldown
    • Biodyne Berserk – 50 second cooldown
    • Moore Tech Berserk – 50 second cooldown
    • Zetatech Berserk – 40 second cooldown
    • Zetatech Sandevistan – 35 second cooldown
    • Dynalar Sandevistan – 45 second cooldown
    • Militech “Falcon” Sandevistan – 40 second cooldown
    • Qiant “Warp Dancer” Sandevistan – 65 second cooldown
  • Nervous System:
    • Synaptic Accelerator – 60 second cooldown
    • Kerenzikov – 7 second cooldown
    • Reflex Tuner – 45 second cooldown
    • Revulsor – 45 second cooldown
  • Circulatory System:
    • Second Heart – 300 second cooldown
  • Integumentary System:
    • Countershell – 6 second cooldown
    • Optical Camo – 55 second cooldown

Build Combinations

Builds that invest in the center tree of Technical Ability will especially get good use out of this, as they can equip more Cyberware that will have a Cooldown. If you learn Perks like Extended Warranty and Cyborg, they can work together to greatly reduce the time that your active effects are down!

If you can fit the Quantum Tuner and a RAM Reallocator, it could be a very powerful combo for Builds that go all in on Intelligence and hacking. With the Reallocator instantly restoring almost a quarter of your RAM instantly, being able to take advantage of this more often will greatly increase your hacking capabilities.

For builds that like to slow down time, combining this with Cyberware like the Synaptic Accelerator, Kerenzikov, and Revulsor will help with allowing you to slow time more frequently.

If you like to be more reckless with your playstyle (particularly with melee weapons or shotguns), you can pair it with Countershell to help keep its Mitigation effect up, and with Second Heart (reducing a massive 300 second cooldown) to give you more frequent chances to escape death.

For a stealth focus build (particularly if you’re going through the middle tree of Cool), pairing this up with the Optical Camo will help keep your low visibility active. You can further augment this by taking advantage of the Creeping Death Perk in the center tree of Cool.

If you pair the Quantum Tuner with the Axolotl, they will compliment each other and cause an ever bigger boost in keeping your cooldowns low.

I'm a huge gamer who especially loves the Final Fantasy series. I will play just about any game, especially if it has anything resembling a Dragoon.
