Overview
The Kerenzikov is a great Cyberware to use if you primarily use ranged weapons for damage and want to be more mobile. Not only will it allow you to aim and used ranged attacks while sliding, dodging, or dashing, but if you aim while doing any of these, time will slow down temporarily, helping you land your shots.
How to Get Kerenzikov
The Kerenzikov is fairly easy to obtain, as they can be purchased at any Ripperdoc after level 20. The tier you can purchase them at will increase at every 10 levels.
How to use the Kerenzikov
The Kerenzikov can be activated while using any ranged weapon. While it can be activated by sliding, dodging, and Dashing, it’s worth noting that you will need to take the Dash perk from the center of the Reflexes tree if you want to take advantage of the Cyberware that way.
If you are having trouble activating the effect, you can aim before you slide, dodge, or Dash to make sure that the Slow will activate properly.
Best Uses for Kerenzikov
By far the best use for Kerenizkov is if you primarily use ranged weapons for attacking — if you’re using a melee weapon or a quickhack, this Cyberware will be useless.
High Reflexes builds will get some extra use out of this Cyberware, as it will slightly increase your Crit Chance for each point invested.
Kerenzikov vs. Sandevistan
The Kerenzikov and the Sandevistan series Cyberware in the Operating System have a very similar effect, so you may wonder if you should use one over the other. Unlike the Kerenzikov, the Sandevistan’s Slow can be used on demand, and will not Slow your own movement, allowing it to work in many more situations. However the cooldown on the Sandevistan is also much longer to make up for the versatility. Because of how much less you can use the Sandevistan, the Kerenzikov could be better for builds focusing on ranged weapons for damage, as you’ll be able to take advantage of it much more.
However, it’s possible to pair both Cyberwares together! This will give you much more uptime on the Slow effect overall, while being able to take advantage of both pieces.
Build Combinations for the Kerenzikov
The most obvious Cyberware to build with the Kerenzikov is the Kerenzikov Boost System in the Frontal Cortex, as it’s sole is to enhance the Kerenzikov’s active effect — not only does it make the slow effect slow down time even more, but it will also remove all Stamina costs of shooting while it’s active. Another Cyberware made to pair with this is the Defenzikov in the Integumentary System, as it will temporarily give you a huge Mitigation Chance after the Kerenzikov’s effect ends.
The center of the Reflexes tree has plenty of Perks that will pair well with the Kerenzikov. Dash will give you another method of activating the piece, while Air Dash will allow you to even use it in midair. Can’t Touch This, Mad Dash, Mean Streak, and Aerial Combat will help make Dashing and the Cyberware more effective. Muscle Memory and Multitasker help make you more mobile while in a fight. Finally, Air Kerenzikov is made for this Cyberware, as the Perk will extend the active effect while also keeping you suspended if used in midair. A fun technique you can do with the Air Dash and Air Kerenzikov is find a good vantage point, dash to activate the Cyberware, then get as many headshots as you can while being suspended in the air!
The Axolotl in the Frontal Cortex is a great pairing with the Kerenzikov, as its constant cooldown reduction for neutralizing enemies will help you use the Kerenzikov’s active effect more.
A fun Cyberware you can pair with the Kerenzikov is and of the Projectile Launch Systems in the Arms section. This will give you a bit of a hybrid option, because the activated projectile can activate the Kerenzikov’s effect — you can even activate it using the Launch System’s overcharge shot that unlocks with the Jailbreak Relic!
