Radars

Radars are used to scan for Exotic Veins, or to complete mission objectives. When crafted, they come in Biofuel, Electric, and Orbital varieties.

In many Scan missions, the Radar is dropped in a Supply Crate, and therefore crafting it is not required.
Using crafted scanners always has a chance of spawning in wildlife. Some of this can be mitigated by running your scanner on an isolated patch of higher ground but beware that the spawned animals could still present an obstacle when you descend.
