How to Get Water – Sons of the Forest

“You are Thirsty”. If you’re here, it’s probably because you’re seeing this message. Fear not and thirst no more! In this guide, we’ll explain exactly how you can quench your gullet in Sons of the Forest.

Water is actually quite plentiful on Sons of the Forest’s not-so-little island — you just need to know where (and how) to look. First things first, open your GPS tracker: computer key m t on KB+M; on controller pressbutton xbox dpad rightto cycle between the GPS and the Walkie Talkie. Look for the light blue lines on the GPS screen — these indicate rivers. With any luck, you’ll be very near one already! Note that you cannot drink from the ocean, so make sure you’re heading towards a river inland body of water.

If you don’t immediately see water, press middle mouse button or playstation options button/button xbox menuto cycle between the various zoom options. Also note the minimap in the bottom right of your screen; it can also help you locate nearby sources of water!
