Everything We Spotted in New Sons of the Forest Trailer

Sons of the Forest is rapidly approaching its early access exit, with the 1.0 release coming February 22nd, 2024. Today, IGN dropped an exclusive trailer for 1.0, and it’s an exciting one. There’s a lot to take in, from cute raccoons to terrifying new monstrosities — but why tell you when you can watch for yourself?

New Features from Trailer

Over the course of the year, Endnight has added a lot to their early access game in the form of patches. Judging from the trailer, though, it seems like they were holding out on us for their 1.0 release. Let’s list some new features, and differences from the EA game, we glimpsed in the trailer:

  • Raccoons – (Davey Crockett hats, anyone?)
  • New Assets like Spooky Wooden Crosses, Wounded Soldiers, and Giant Energy Beams – Not to be confused with the cross weapon.
  • New Movie – The Entertainment Bunker’s movie room looks cleaned up, so you might not find a certain weapon there anymore?
  • New Enemies – There are some leg-clicking mutants, and cannibals that are on gliders.
  • GPS Golf Cart – Now you can cruise on your golf cart and know where you’re going!
  • Golden Armor Cannibals – Doesn’t look as good as our Golden Armor, but that will still have some lore implications.
  • Electric Orb – Your guess is as good as ours.

Endnight games have done a fantastic job with Sons of the Forest’s early access period, and it seems safe to say that the 1.0 launch will only continue that process — given the size of some of the EA patches, we’re anticipating a massive 1.0 update that adds new story content, items, and more.
