Can be wielded and used to scare smaller enemies, or placed on a stick to create an effigy. If put in a fire, will become a cooked head, and then finally a skull.

Where to Get a Raw Head

After killing a cannibal, you can dismember their body with an axe. This is accomplished by looking down at the corpse, and holding the swing button /. While swinging, aim at the head (not the neck) to remove it, and it should come off. You’ll then be able to pick it up.

How to Use the Raw Head

There are a number of uses for the raw head:

The head can be equipped from your inventory like any other item (with / ). With the head equipped, you can press / to thrust the head forward — this seems to frighten some humanoid enemies.
After placing a stick on the ground in free-build mode, you can equip a head and then place it on the end of the stick by looking at the top of the stick and pressing /. In the previous game (The Forest), this would frighten cannibals, but it doesn’t currently appear to affect enemy behavior in SotF.
You can create a cooked head, and eventually a skull, by placing a raw head in a fire. Cooked heads cannot be eaten in the current build, but skulls are a useful crafting material.
