So what exactly is The Hero’s Guides to The Elder Scrolls Online, and what can collector’s expect to receive for $100? Basically, the Guides consist of three separate volumes totaling 272 pages of original writing and illustrations, along with a miniature lithograph in a numbered portfolio. All four pieces are collected together in a protective, heavy duty clamshell box with gilded lettering. As you can see from the pictures below, the set appears to be a well designed and unique collectible for Elder Scrolls fans.

The Hero’s Guides to The Elder Scrolls Online are not “how to” guides of any sort, but are rather works of creative writing, penned as first-hand accounts of characters living in Tamriel (Nord hunters, an Imperial fighter, and a wizard’s apprentice). Taken as a whole, the Guides tell stories from Tamriel, and promise to give players and collectors a taste of the realm. The unique books include:

  • Kyne’s Challenge: A Hunter’s Companion, a 156 page hardcover book bound in faux-leather written from the perspective of Nord hunters traveling across the provinces.
  • Gathering Force: Arms and Armor of Tamriel, a 56 page softcover catalog of the ESO Race’s weapons and armor.
  • Agents and Reagents: The Bounty of Mundus, a 48 page envelope-wrapped alchemical studies journal written by a wizard’s apprentice.

The books are professionally illustrated by fantasy artists Brynn MetheneyRoberto GomesDavid Keen, and Caio Cacau.
