The release date for Bethesda’s new Elder Scrolls books has been delayed.

Last October, Bethesda announced they were teaming up with Titan Books to publish a new series of hardcover Elder Scrolls books:

  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel (a two volume set)
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Skyrim Library (a three volume set)

According to Omar Khan, series editor:

Using art and text from Bethesda, we were able craft these amazing tomes that truly showcase the exceptionally well-written and in-depth lore that is the foundation of The Elder Scrolls.

The Elder Scrolls books are geared towards fans of the gaming franchise, and are being published by Titan Books — an industry leader in science fiction, art, and gaming tie-ins.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel will feature a collection of in-game lore and over 100 pieces of specially commissioned artwork. The two volume set provides in-depth coverage of the ongoing war between the three factions.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Skyrim Library will reprint all the in-game texts found throughout the Skyrim video game. The three volumes will mark the first time all texts are brought together in one collection.

Originally, the first volumes in both series were scheduled for a March 2015 release. However, the estimated release dates have been pushed back to a later time.

The new estimated release date for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel – Vol. I is April 21, 2015.

The new estimated release date for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Skyrim Library is May 19, 2015.

There is no official word regarding the reasons for the delay.
