Defeating bosses in Valheim grants you their trophies. If you place those trophies on Sacrificial Stones, you’ll be granted Forsaken Powers. These active abilities give you various bonuses ranging from reduced Stamina usage to significant damage resistances. This guide will help you learn how Forsaken Powers work and the precise bonuses you get from them.
How to Get Forsaken Powers
After defeating a biome boss, you’ll be able to loot their exclusive trophy you’ll exchange for Forsaken Powers. These bosses are:
Meadows – Eikthyr
Black Forest – The Elder
Swamp – Bonemass
Mountain – Moder
Plains – Yagluth
Mistlands – The Queen
Ashlands – Fader
When you first spawn into a Valheim world, you appear at the center of the map. Around you will be a set of Sacrificial Stones. They’ll be marked on your map with a standing stone icon. These stones have hints and carvings on them showing which boss they belong to.

After defeating a boss and looting the trophy, head to the Sacrificial Stone circle, locate the stone corresponding to the boss you’ve defeated, and interact with the hook on the stone. This will place the trophy on the hook.
From that point, you’ll be able to activate the Forsaken Power belonging to the boss at that stone. Your Forsaken Power indicator is located to the right of your health bar. It shows your active power and its current status.

How to Use Forsaken Powers
Select a Forsaken Power at a Sacrificial Stone
Activate the power by pressing F (default key)
Your character will play a quick animation
Take care not to get hit during it while in combat
Your selected power will stay active for 5 minutes
The cooldown between power uses is 20 minutes
Some things to keep in mind while using Forsaken Powers:
You can only have a single power active at one time
Powers you use buff every player in a 10-meter radius
Same power from different players don’t stack
Different powers do stack
The last two points are important if you want to get the best use out of your Forsaken powers in a multiplayer scenario.
If all players have the same power selected, with four of them, you can keep the power active indefinitely (5-minute duration on a 20-minute cooldown). Alternatively, you can select different powers to stack them all together before a tough fight. That way you can use them all at once and get 5 minutes of multiple strong buffs.
Forsaken Powers List and Effects
The table below will list the bosses you need to defeat, the biomes they reside in, and the powers you get from their trophies. All Forsaken Powers last 300 seconds (5 minutes).
Resistant (-50%) VS Fire Adrenaline gain: +100% Stagger resistance: +50%
Eikthyr
Eikthyr, the very first boss you defeat, grants a universally useful power when you’re out exploring. With multiple players, you can chain these together to cover great distances without running out of Stamina.
The Elder
While The Elder’s power offers some nice Healths regeneration, its main use is to help you chop trees and mine ore faster.
Bonemass
The power you get from the Bonemass boss is great for physical fighters and characters who use shields. Probably the best option when fighting general enemies and don’t need a specific elemental resistance.
Moder
Moder’s power will help you when dealing with cold environments (useful in the final Deep North biome). It’s also the best way to carry a heavy burden over land.
Yagluth
Yagluth’s power will help you resist lightning attacks and make you do slightly more damage against any foe. But you’ll mainly want to use it when working on your farms for its skill bonus.
The Queen
After you conquer the Mistlands and defeat The Queen, her power will make you better at dealing with poison damage, greatly increase your Eitr regen, and negate Stamina usage when sneaking. A good power for mages and rogues.
Fader
The power of Fader, the boss of the Ashlands biome, will naturally make you resistant to fire. But it will also allow you to use your trinkets twice as often, and help you resist the Stagger stun effects.
