Roasted Crust Pie is an Ashlands-tier food that boosts your health by 34, stamina by 100, and health regeneration by 4 hp/tick for 30 minutes. To cook it, you’ll need to combine 2 Vineberry Clusters, a Volture Egg, and 4 Barley Flour into an Uncooked Roasted Crust Pie at a Food Preparation Table, then bake it in a Stone Oven.

Acquisition

  • Cooking a Roasted Crust Pie requires 2 Vineberry Clusters, a Volture Egg, and 4 Barley Flour
  • You’ll need to first assemble the ingredients at a Food Preparation Table, then cook them in a Stone Oven

Here’s where you’ll go to look for the required resources:

  • Vineberry Cluster is a yellow grape-looking berry that grows on the walls of abandoned buildings in the Ashlands
  • Volture Eggs are found inside Volture Nests and dropped by Voltures
  • Barley Flour is made by processing Barley at a Windmill

Roasted Crust Pie is a great way to increase your stamina reserves when exploring the Ashlands biome. You’ll initially find the Vineberry Clusters you need for this recipe growing on the walls of abandoned buildings of the Ashlands. When gathering them, there’s a chance you’ll also get some Vineberry Seeds. You can plant them with a Cultivator tool (Corewood x5, Bronze x5) in most biomes to set up a Vineberry Cluster farm.

Voltures are an annoying enemy you’ll find throughout the Ashlands biome. They fly out of reach, only swooping down to attack you. When slain, they have a chance to drop Volture Eggs. When exploring the biome, you’ll also encounter Volture Nests that resemble piles of bones on the ground. You’ll find several Volture Eggs inside these nests.

While exploring the Plains biome, you’ll raid numerous Fulling villages. Some of them have plots of Barley growing inside. Picking that Barley, and then planting it back in the Plains soil with the Cultivator tool creates a Barley farm, where each Barley you plant grows into 3 Barley.

You will then need a Windmill (Stone x20, Wood x30, Iron Nails x30). To build it, you’ll also need an Artisan Table (Wood x10, Dragon Tear x2), which requires defeating Moder, the Mountain biome boss. When you bring some Barley to a Windmill, you’ll be able to load it in. After the Windmill processes the Barley, you’ll get Barley Flour.

With the ingredients ready, take 2 Vineberry Clusters, a Volture Egg, and 4 Barley Flour to a Food Processing Table (Iron x5, Finewood x20, Leather Scraps x15), where you’ll assemble them into an Uncooked Roasted Crust Pie. Take it to a Stone Oven (Iron x15, Stone x20, Surtling Core x4). Put some Wood in the bottom part of the oven to start a fire. Then, interact with the top part and you’ll put the Uncooked Roasted Crust Pie inside. After 50 seconds, it will be ready. Interact with the oven again and pick up your Roasted Crust Pie. Just make sure not to leave it in the oven for too long, as after 100 seconds, the pie will turn into Coal.

Food

When you eat a Roasted Crust Pie, your health will increase by 34, stamina by 100, and health regeneration by 4 hp/tick for 30 minutes. This can be combined with the effects of up to two other foods, but you can’t eat more than one Roasted Crust Pie at a time.

Immediately after eating, a Roasted Crust Pie will grant you its listed benefits. They’ll fade over time. When there’s just 50% left in the buff’s duration, or 15 minutes, the buff icon will start flashing. Then, you’ll be able to eat another Roasted Crust Pie to refresh the buff.

Helpful Tips

  • A Roasted Crust Pie takes 50 seconds to bake, but turns into Coal after 100 seconds in the oven
  • When gathering Vineberry Clusters, you’re not guaranteed to get some Vineberry Seeds, so if you don’t get some right away, just keep looking
  • When dealing with Voltures, using a ranged weapon and having a shield ready for when they attack is highly recommended
  • Smashing Volture Nests can reveal some eggs you would otherwise miss
  • Since you can only grow Barley in the Plains, setting up a portal near your Barley farm is a good idea
