It takes 25 seconds for Cooked Bear Meat to prepare
If you leave it cooking for too long, it will turn into Coal
Bears are pretty tough enemies that roam the Black Forest biome. They’re large and hard to miss. They’ll likely attack you before you attack them. Dodging is recommended when fighting them. Despite their vicious nature, Bears are afraid of fire and will avoid you if you have a torch out. When slain, they will drop Bear Meat.
When you reach the Plains biome, you’ll encounter Viles. These are a stronger version of Bears and can also drop Bear Meat.
With Bear Meat in your inventory, interact with a Cooking Station (Wood x2) over an open fire. In 25 seconds, the meat will be ready and you’ll be able to retrieve your Cooked Bear Meat. Make sure you don’t leave it on the fire for too long, as it will eventually turn into Coal.

Eating a piece of Cooked Bear Meat will raise your health by 40, stamina by 13, and health regeneration by 2 hp/tick for 20 minutes. To eat Cooked Bear Meat, right click it in your inventory. Its effects can be combined with up to two other food types, but you can’t eat more than one Cooked Bear Meat at once.
Immediately after you eat Cooked Bear Meat, you’ll get its full bonuses. They will start fading over time. When there’s just 50% of the buff’s duration left, its icon will begin blinking and you’ll be able to eat another Cooked Bear Meat.
Helpful Tips
Bears can be difficult to take down with basic weapons, so if you’re not yet ready to fight one, have a source of fire nearby. This will scare the bear off
Bears with stars around their health bars are stronger and drop more meat
Viles in the Plains also drop Bear Meat. However, the stronger Viles with stars around their health bars stop dropping Bear Meat
