How to Get Screws in Fallout 4

Crafting weapons, modifications, armor, and more in Fallout 4 requires certain components that can be found throughout The Commonwealth. Many of these components can be obtained by scrapping the junk you find throughout your journeys. Screws are essential to crafting, in addition to creating and upkeeping your settlement.

The Scrapper Perk

The scrapper perk is definitely one you should have. It will allow you to get screws from weapons and armor you scrap. With additional levels, it will allow you to get rarer materials such as circuitry and fiber optics. Level three of the perk will double the amount of uncommon materials you find, such as screws.

Locations

Desk fans are incredibly plentiful throughout the Commonwealth. The same goes for hot plates. Desk fans will be found in any office building. Hot plates will be in any kitchen. Any of the toys, such as the Giddyup Buttercup, will be found at Wilson Atomatoys Corporate HQ. This is conveniently located right near Diamond City. If you have the caps, and want to buy in bulk, you

can always go to a merchant and purchase a large order of components (like screws). Arturo in Diamond City will have just what you’re looking for. Rufus Rubins, located in the Hotel Rexford in Goodneighbor also has a shipment of screws. Additionally, Tinker Tom in Railroad HQ has a shipment of screws. Finally, if you can find the wandering trader Trashcan Carla, she will have screws for you as well. She may also be in Bunker Hill if she is currently not wandering, so make sure you check there.
