Dice Legacy releases today on PC via Steam, as well as on Nintendo Switch. We enjoyed our initial playthrough of DESNITYbit’s roguelike city-builder quite a bit; it’s a unique take on the genres it borrows from, and offers both the satisfaction of creating a beautiful settlement and the fast-paced challenge of an RTS.

Dice Legacy won Gamescom 2021’s “Most Original Game” award, and it isn’t hard to see why. The game mixes standard city-builder fare like managing resources and your population’s happiness with perma-death roguelike mechanics and punishing difficulty, and the end result is undeniably addictive.
