Valheim – Video Update Showcases Survival Challenges of the Deep North Biome

Hervor Bloodtooth continues her voyage in the latest development update for Iron Gate’s survival-crafting game Valheim. In doing so, she brings us one month closer to the eventual release of the boreal Deep North biome and the game’s full launch. This month’s update shares a brief video showcasing the deceptive stillness of the Deep North biome, as well as its environmental dangers. See for yourself:

As Valheim-exploring Vikings we’ve already had to deal with extreme cold when venturing in the Mountain biome. But by the looks of it, Deep North will be upping the stakes and introducing some new survival challenges and freezing status effects that can freeze you, or some monsters, solid.

Check out this Greydwarf that’s more ice sculpture than dwarf now:

Last month’s update announced the Favour of Freya screenshot contest, and now this one reminds us that the contest is still live. You can still submit your artistic screenshots through March 31, 2025. Coincidentally, right now you can purchase the game on Steam at 50% off.

This sale will be running until the contest’s conclusion on March 31st. So grab it while it’s hot, because once Deep North arrives, you’ll have to deal with plenty of cold.
