Feasts are a new type of food introduced to Valheim with the Bog Witch update. You can eat from a single Feast up to 10 times, and the buff you get from it lasts 50 minutes. This guide will help you start cooking and eating Feasts.
How to Make and Eat a Feast
Purchase a Serving Tray and spices from the Bog Witch
Since Feasts were introduced as a mechanic together with the Bog Witch update, you’ll need to interact with that NPC trader if you want to start cooking Feasts. To get to the Bog Witch, you’ll need to explore the Swamp biome. When you approach the Bog Witch’s hut, a white cauldron symbol will appear on your map, leading you to the witch. We have a guide with detailed instructions for how to find the Bog Witch.

When you reach the witch, interact with her to open her store. First thing you’ll want to buy is the Serving Tray for 140 Coins. You’ll use it to place Feasts down – you can’t simply eat them from your inventory like a regular food. Then, you’ll also want to buy some herbs and spices. Each of the Feasts, on top of the regular ingredients, requires a special herb blend. You will usually need to defeat a boss from a biome associated with a Feast to be able to buy the necessary herb blend. The herbs vary in price but usually cost a bit above100 Coins. However, this gets you 5 of each blend, so the price per individual Feast isn’t too steep.

Take the spices and the basic ingredients needed for a Feast to a Food Preparation Table. There, you’ll be able to combine them into a Feast. The Feast will go into your inventory, but you won’t be able to eat it right away. Equip your Serving Tray by either right-clicking it in your inventory or assigning it to your hotbar. Then, right-click to open the Serving Tray’s crafting menu. The first two tabs in that menu will let you place food and Mead as decorations. The third deals with Feasts. Select the Feast tab and choose the Feast you want to place. The Serving Tray’s description suggests you need a table to place a Feast. In reality, you can place a Feast on any flat surface like you would a regular crafting piece.
When a Feast is placed, simply approach and interact with it. If you have empty food buff slots, you will take a bite from the Feast gaining its food buff for 50 minutes. Be careful when doing this – after just placing a Feast down, you can remove it and it will return to your inventory. But if you eat from a Feast even once, removing it destroys it completely and you get nothing back. In total, you or your party members can eat from a Feast up to 10 times.

Feast Recipes & Effects
Feasts provide a balanced boost to your health and stamina. Feasts from the later biomes also provide a smaller bonus to your Eitr. As a general rule, a Feast won’t be your best-in-slot food for any biome. But since their effects last longer than other foods, and you can keep eating from a Feast after you’ve placed it, this makes them perfect for extended excursions into hostile lands. Below you’ll find a complete list of Feasts together with their recipes and bonuses.
